American Islamic College (AIC) is embarking on a once-in-a-generation transformation — one that will secure our financial future, expand our academic offerings, and deepen our role as a bridge between cultures and economies.

Through an innovative partnership with Chicago developers and architects, we are redeveloping our historic lakefront campus into Immaculata Living — a vibrant, multi-generational residential community featuring more than 400 modern apartments. This landmark redevelopment will combine the restoration of our 1920s heritage buildings with the construction of a new lake-view tower, offering both independent senior living and housing for young professionals.

Why this matters for AIC:
Income from Immaculata Living will provide the College with a reliable, long-term revenue stream, freeing future donations to go directly toward scholarships, faculty excellence, and new program development. This is a sustainable model – one that protects AIC from reliance on fundraising, and ensures our mission can thrive for decades to come.

A Development That Serves the Community and Our Students

The redevelopment will create an intergenerational environment where residents can contribute to the life of the College. Senior living residents will have opportunities to mentor students, share life experiences, and participate in community programming – creating a unique learning ecosystem.

Our relocation to Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood will place us in a diverse, vibrant community, while our restored historic property will continue to be a cultural and intellectual landmark.

Expanding Our Academic Horizon

Alongside this financial transformation, from fall 2027 AIC is launching new programs designed for the future, including:

• The Ibn Sina Scholars Program – A flagship dual degree combining a BA in Arabic & Islamic Studies with a BS in Biology, Health Sciences, or Premedical Studies. This unique program connects Islamic intellectual traditions with modern health sciences, preparing graduates for impactful careers in medicine, healthcare, and public service.
• Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) – A program designed to prepare Americans to do business in the Middle East, Asia, and the wider Muslim world — and to equip international students with the skills to succeed in the American market. Our students learn from industry leaders across the Gulf, Southeast Asia, and the U.S., gaining the cultural fluency and entrepreneurial mindset needed to excel in a connected world.

Through these and other initiatives, AIC will become a meeting point for cultures, economies, and ideas — where the next generation of leaders will learn how to navigate both the American and global business landscapes.
