IS 495/IS 555/IS 585 Fundamentals of a Qur'anic Worldview

Instructor: Omer Mozaffar
Dates: June 16 – July 10
Dates: M,T,W,R | 6:00pm – 8:45pm

This course offers a systematic exploration of the Qur’an’s comprehensive worldview. Students will examine central theological themes such as Divinity, Prophecy, and Eschatology, while also engaging broader questions about the nature and structure of reality as presented in the Qur’an.

The majority of the course will be devoted to close readings of the Qur’anic text, with guided analysis and discussion. Select secondary readings from the Islamic scholarly tradition will supplement our study to deepen understanding and provide interpretive context.

The language of instruction is English. Familiarity with Arabic and other Muslim scholarly languages will be beneficial but is not required
