In addition to two MA degrees (earned in 1994 from Wm Paterson College and in 1999 from Hartford Seminary), he has two PhD’s. The first is from Drew University in the Sociology of Religion and second is from the University of Virginia in Theology, Ethics, and Culture. He joined the Dept. of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in 2006 after teaching at Concordia College (Moorhead, MN) for four years and became Full Professor in 2022. His research areas span the areas of religious studies, philosophy of science, and sociology of culture. He is especially interested in nurturing a conversation between theFalsafa-e-Khudi of Muhammad Iqbal, the pragmatism of Charles Peirce, and the social science methodology of Max Weber. He has published two single authored books, three co-edited books, and multiple journal articles (single and co-authored). Most recently, he has a chapter in The Routledge International Handbook on Max Weber and an upcoming chapter in Springer’s The History and Philosophy of Social Science.
