How People Learn from an Islamic Perspective
This course explores the foundational theories of human learning, integrating Islamic philosophical, theological, and educational perspectives. Students will critically examine how learning occurs, drawing on Islamic concepts such as the Fitrah (innate disposition), Ta’lim (education), Tazkiyah (purification), and Hikmah (wisdom). The course emphasizes learning’s spiritual, cognitive, cultural, and social dimensions, fostering an understanding of holistic development within the Islamic worldview. Additionally, it considers how Islamic principles address issues of equity, justice, and community building in education.
