We are seeking a qualified, dynamic, self-starting, goal-oriented candidate to serve as the College’s part time Campus Chaplain & Student Services Coordinator (CCSSC) as we grow, diversify, and evolve into a full-fledged and fully accredited university with a growing roster of undergraduate and graduate programs. Informed by the College’s Mission and Vision, the new CCSSC is responsible for looking primarily after the students’ mental wellness, spiritual needs, and practical needs as they navigate their way from undergraduate study to graduate schools and/or careers.
Qualifications & Experience:
The CCSSC must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and be both comfortable and capable when speaking publicly. The CCSSC must also be personable, energetic, responsive, and pastorally oriented.
- A Master of Arts in Counselling, Master of Divinity (MDiv), or equivalent degree (advanced, post CPE MDiv students will be considered);
- Excellent writing and public speaking skills;
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and experience in working within a multicultural educational setting;
- A positive, personable, empathetic, and collaborative spirit;
- Alignment with AIC’s Mission and Vision;
- Willingness to be available for occasional evening and weekend programs and events
- Practices reflective listening

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide spiritual, mental, and emotional support to students, staff, and faculty;
- Serve as an AIC community “Confidential Advisor” (a role separate from the Title IX Officer);
- Report general complaints and concerns to the AIC Ombusdman, academic complaints and concerns to the VPAA, and Title IX offenses or concerns to the Title IX Officer;
- Be familiar with AIC’s Student Affairs policies and procedures;
- Advise the faculty, staff, and administration concerning matters of student concern;
- Advise students in their internship applications, academic planning, and career planning;
- Work with relevant individuals (such as the Campus Security Officer), offices, and agencies, both on and off campus, to ensure the safety and security of students and provide referrals to essential support services as needed;
- Track how many students utilize the CCSSC’s services;
- Assists in preparation, planning and implementation for Friday services
- Facilitates planning and implementation for student halakah’s
- Works with interfaith coordinator on interfaith-related programming
- Coordinates spiritual and religious literacy events for the community
- Serves as a bridge between AIC and Muslim students at other colleges and the Muslim community at large.
- Provides pastoral counseling and mentorship
